Inmate charged after making threats against his arresting officer

51-year-old Rodney Hinderliter was charged with retaliation for past action after the central operator in the jail heard him making a threat against the deputy that arrested him.

On November 1st, Stewart County Sheriff’s Deputy Miller filed a report for threats made against himself by Rodney Hinderliter. The corrections officer at the jail stated while he performed a security check, he spoke with Hinderliter.

While they discussed why he was in jail, a central operator overheard him talk about Deputy Miller. He stated to the corrections officer that he would, “beat the living dog shit out of him on the streets.” It is noted Deputy Miller arrested Hinderliter on September 6th, who was later sentenced to incarceration.

Rodney Hinderliter was previously charged with failure to appear and is currently jailed. He has since been charged with retaliation for past action, with a bond set at $10,000.
