Woman charged after deputies witness texts of “what she was planning to do” to her husband

42-year-old Kelly Leese was charged with domestic assault after she claimed her husband assaulted her, but deputies observed text messages on her phone that stated otherwise.

On November 18th, Stewart County Sheriff’s Deputy Trenton Hearndon responded to reports of a domestic assault that had occurred at 115 Sycamore Circle. Other deputies were also dispatched to 866 Rorie Hollow Road to speak with Brian Leese, the other party involved in the incident. When Deputy Hearndon arrived, he made contact with Kelly Leese. Kelly stated she was assaulted by her husband.

During the investigation, it appeared Kelly left her residence, went to go see her husband at his house, and an argument ensued. Deputies observed text messages on both parties’ phones that described what she planned to do. These text messages corroborated Brian’s statements. Deputies noted Kelly appeared intoxicated, and her story changed multiple times during their interaction. Deputies determined Kelly to be the primary aggressor.

Kelly Leese was arrested and charged with domestic assault. Her bond was set at $500.
