Woman admits to being “high”; charged after expressing concern about her child

30-year-old Alexia Dennis was charged with public intoxication after she was found stumbling and begging outside an Exxon, then admitted to taking Prozac and diazepam.

On October 8th, Stewart County Sheriff’s Deputy Jason Knotts spotted Alexia Dennis at an Exxon Gas Station stumbling around the parking lot. Deputy Knotts spoke with Alexia and noticed her speech was slurred and pupils were dilated. She admitted to taking gabapentin, Prozac, and diazepam.

Customers within the gas station told the deputy that Alexia had been asking them for money. She reportedly told multiple people that she was “high” and claimed she was worried about the safety of her child, who was with her.

Alexia Dennis was arrested and charged with violation of probation and public intoxication. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $52,000 bond.
