Man pulls knife on girlfriend with child present

23-year-old Alonzo Starks was charged with aggravated assault after his girlfriend and her child claimed he pulled a knife out during a disagreement earlier that morning.

On October 19th, Dover Police Officer Dennis Honholt and Stewart County Sheriff’s Deputy Rozet responded to a 911 call that stated a man by the name of Alonzo Starks was holding a knife at 119 Lee Circle. On the way, the officers spotted a Black Dodge Challenger that was identified to be owned by the caller.

The vehicle was stopped with Erica McDaniel, her child, and Alonzo Starks inside. The officer spoke with the caller who stated she and Alonzo are in an intimate relationship. She stated they got into a disagreement earlier in the day, and he pulled a knife on her. Her juvenile child corroborated the story and officers took Alonzo into custody. He confessed he did argue with Erica and he was holding a knife during the incident.

Alonzo Starks was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He was later released on a $10,000 bond.
